ROCKCEM (SL) Ltd will open a new warehouse at Sumbuya in Songo, Western Rural District, in November 2026. This infrastructure expansion aims to support the company’s supply chain operations within Sierra Leone. The selection of the Sumbuya site in Songo, Western Rural District, is a strategic decision intended to bolster the company’s presence in the region. By establishing this new warehouse, ROCKCEM (SL) Ltd intends to secure a more strong logistical footprint, ensuring that construction materials are stored and managed closer to key transit routes.

To facilitate this growth, ROCKCEM (SL) Ltd has invested in a modern cement grinding mill. The facility features a projected processing and packaging capacity exceeding 60,000 bags of cement daily. These installations reflect the company's efforts to increase its production output and regional distribution capabilities. The new warehouse and grinding mill are intended to meet the rising demand for construction materials in the area. The integration of this modern grinding mill is designed to streamline the workflow from raw material intake to the final packaging stage, ensuring that the facility maintains high efficiency.

Production Capacity and Output

Each bag of cement produced by the new grinding mill weighs 50 kilograms. This specific measurement applies to the total daily processing and packaging capacity of the facility. By maintaining a uniform weight of 50 kilograms per unit, ROCKCEM (SL) Ltd ensures standardized logistics and easier handling for clients and distributors who rely on these quantities for large-scale construction projects.

The grinding mill's projected output is equivalent to more than 3,000 metric tonnes of cement per day. ROCKCEM (SL) Ltd expects these production levels to align with the infrastructure expansion occurring at Sumbuya in Songo, Western Rural District. This scale of output represents a significant step in the company's operational roadmap, providing the necessary volume to support the projected increase in regional demand for cement.

Logistics and Distribution Network

ROCKCEM (SL) Ltd maintains a fleet of approximately 50 vehicles to support its cement distribution and logistical operations across Sierra Leone. These vehicles serve as the primary transport network for delivering construction materials from production and storage sites to clients nationwide. The fleet of approximately 50 vehicles is dedicated to maintaining a consistent supply chain, ensuring that the cement produced at the grinding mill is transported efficiently to various destinations throughout the country.

Administrative operations for the company are managed from its head office located at 13B Bai Bureh Road, Texaco, Old Road, Freetown. This facility serves as the central point for coordinating the logistical requirements of the business as it expands its infrastructure. From the head office at 13B Bai Bureh Road, Texaco, Old Road, Freetown, the management team oversees the deployment of the fleet and monitors the progress of the construction at the new warehouse site. By centralizing these management functions, ROCKCEM (SL) Ltd aims to maintain oversight of its expanding operations, ensuring that the new warehouse at Sumbuya in Songo, Western Rural District, functions in harmony with the company’s broader logistical network. The coordination between the Freetown office and the site in Songo, Western Rural District, remains a priority as the November 2026 opening date approaches.
