Premium Divine Trading Company Limited promoted food safety standards through the Onga Waka Fiesta, an initiative themed "Good Food Today, A Nourishing Life Tomorrow." The company held this event to mark World Food Day, which is observed annually on October 16. The campaign focused on educating the public about the critical importance of hygiene and nutritional standards in food preparation and consumption. Fatu Sesay, a market woman at Lumley Market, attended the engagement to learn about health and nutrition standards. "As a market woman at Lumley Market, I know how important food is in our daily lives," Fatu Sesay said. "The information shared during this engagement will help us pay more attention to the quality and safety of the food products we buy and use when preparing meals."

Roadshow Itinerary and Locations

The Onga Waka Fiesta roadshow took place from 15 to 17 July 2026. Organizers scheduled visits to Waterloo on 15 July, followed by stops in communities within the Western Area on 16 July. The tour concluded in eastern Freetown on 17 July. During these scheduled visits, company representatives distributed educational materials designed to inform consumers about the essential practices required to maintain food safety in both commercial and domestic settings. The roadshow served as a mobile platform for direct interaction, allowing the organizers to reach diverse groups across these specific geographical locations.

Kenneth Konuah, Country Manager of Premium Divine Trading Company Limited, addressed the importance of communication during the event. "We respect the right of consumers to ask questions and seek accurate information," Kenneth Konuah stated. "At the same time, we encourage members of the public and social media users to rely on verified evidence and official sources before sharing claims that may cause unnecessary concern." His remarks emphasized the company's commitment to transparency and the dissemination of reliable health information to the communities it serves.

Participants at the various stops included local market women who engaged with the safety materials provided by the company. These sessions provided a forum for women to discuss common challenges regarding food storage and handling. Mabinty Sesay, a market woman from Calaba Town, noted the impact of the sessions on domestic food practices. "As market women, we play an important role in providing food for our households and communities," Mabinty Sesay said. "The knowledge shared during this engagement will help us become more conscious of the food we prepare and serve to our families." By engaging directly with community leaders and local vendors, Premium Divine Trading Company Limited aimed to foster a culture of safety that extends from the marketplace to the family kitchen, reinforcing the central message of the "Good Food Today, A Nourishing Life Tomorrow" theme throughout the duration of the three-day roadshow.
