QNET hosted the VCON Malaysia 2026 media webinar on 22 October 2026 to discuss regional anti-fraud initiatives. The event serves as part of the company's ongoing efforts to address concerns regarding illicit activities. These initiatives are centered on the QNET Against Scams campaign, which originally launched in August 2024. The campaign aims to educate the public and partner with media organizations to identify and prevent fraudulent practices. Participants in the webinar reviewed the progress of these educational materials and evaluated the effectiveness of current outreach programs. QNET continues to coordinate with regional media outlets to implement these standards across its operational territories.

Strengthening Accountability and Business Standards

QNET terminated 141 independent distributor accounts for non-compliance between 2025 and October 2026. Marlene Keur, Head of Communications and Global Public Relations for QI Group, stated, "QNET operates a direct selling business model involving independent distributors who promote and sell products." These account closures reflect ongoing internal efforts to enforce operational guidelines and maintain integrity within the network. Cherif Sarr, QNET’s Regional General Manager for West and Central Africa, explained that the company implemented specific measures to oversee these partnerships. He noted, "The company had introduced the Business 2U accreditation process to strengthen accountability among independent distributors." The firm continues to monitor distributor activities to ensure adherence to these established standards across its various operational territories.

Combating Fraud and Supporting Victims

Internal audits identified that 26 of the terminated independent distributor accounts were linked to the facilitation of fraudulent cross-border movement. QNET reported 158 cases of such misconduct to relevant authorities. Through these interventions, the company assisted more than 3,000 victims in returning to their home countries or reuniting with their families.

Journalists from Sierra Leone and Liberia traveled to the QNET headquarters in Malaysia during September 2026 to examine these operational issues. Cecilia Sesay, a television presenter at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), participated in the visit. She stated, "The visit enabled participating journalists to interact directly with QNET management and raise difficult questions about the company’s activities and allegations involving individuals misusing its name in Sierra Leone and Liberia."
